3 posts in one day to catch up:)

This is going to be our entire summer vacation.  However, when you start in April, only the dad with the full body wet suit is the one going in the water.  We are so excited that Jared's mom got her family a boat and anticipate many fun family functions well, every weekend until October:)

Jared's new toy

I'm beginning to think that if Jared had to pick another job he might choose his place in a rockband:)  ROCKBAND on XBOX is our latest way of creating enjoyment up here in no mans land.   (Ironically, we're reading "Last Child in the Woods" about kids with nature deprivation, I'm sure Rockband will help our cause in getting the kids in the wild more) And when we aren't embarrassing just ourselves we invite family and friends to do it with us:)

So its been a while

So I know its been a while.  First it was our huge LACK of internet access and then it turned into the slowest internet on earth...truth be told, I just started avoiding the office all together:)  So this is what our family has been up to just to start with.  Cash and Marisa came to visit and in honor of Cash and his love for Mountain Dew we made these:
Mountain Dew Apple dumplings
2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls       1 cup sugar
2-3 apples       cinnamon
2 sticks of butter       1 tsp vanilla
Cut apples into 1/8ths and put one or two wedges in each crescent roll.  Lay them in a nine x thirteen.   Melt butter in pan, add vanilla, and then dump the sugar in.  It doesn't need to  be mixed very well and the sugar should not dissolve.  Pour mixture over your crescent rolls.  And then comes the good part.  Take a can of mountain dew and pour about 3/4 of it around the edges of your 9 x 13.  And it will fill in the rest.  Sprinkle with cinnamon.  And cook for 40 minutes at 350.

Now this is not a picture of us making the above fat maker, BUT I did want to show how I usually end up making all goodies.  Aren't they adorable kids. (Kids who need a hair cut or at the very least for their mother to do something with it:)
